Cal Plus can connect to ChatGPT, so
you can ask it about your own logged data in plain words — and get coaching grounded in what you
actually ate, lifted and weighed, not generic advice.
Want the full picture first? Read how ChatGPT can coach you on your real food log.
The connection is strictly read-only. A connected assistant can see the
categories you approve, but it can never log meals, change goals, or delete anything. You
choose exactly what to share when you connect, and you can disconnect at any time.
What you need
- A Cal Plus account with an active subscription
- A ChatGPT account
How to connect
Cal Plus is available as an app inside ChatGPT (paid ChatGPT plans).
- In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps and search for Cal Plus,
or type @Cal Plus in a chat.
- Choose Connect. A Cal Plus page opens: enter your Cal Plus account email and
the 6-digit code we email you.
- Tick the data categories you want to share, then press Connect.
Things to try
- "How has my nutrition been over the last month?"
- "Compare my calorie and protein intake with my activity this week."
- "Why might my weight have stopped changing? Look at my last 8 weeks."
- "How consistent has my training been, and which lifts are progressing?"
- "Which of my habits am I slipping on lately?"
What is shared
Only the categories you tick on the consent screen, and only when you ask the assistant a question
that needs them:
- Your profile and goals — age, height, weights, activity level, targets,
streaks
- Your food logs — meals, calories, nutrients, daily totals
- Your steps and active energy — if a health app is connected
- Your sleep — time asleep, bedtime and wake-up, sleep stages and Sleep Score, if
you share it from your health app
- Your workouts — sessions, exercises, sets, reps and weights
- Your weight history — weigh-ins and progress
- Your habits and water — habit check-ins and hydration
- Your saved preferences — dietary restrictions, allergies, dislikes
See the Privacy Policy for full details on AI assistant
connections.
Disconnecting
Remove the Cal Plus connection in your assistant's settings (Apps in ChatGPT). Access stops immediately. Reconnecting always shows the consent screen again — new data
categories are never added to an old connection without your approval.
Troubleshooting
- "Not shared" answers: the assistant is asking about a category you did not
tick. Disconnect, reconnect, and tick that category.
- "Subscription required": the AI connection is a premium feature — it needs an
active Cal Plus subscription.
- No sign-in code arriving: check spam, or request a new code. Codes expire
after a few minutes.
